CS-M SILICON CARBIDE GENERAL PURPOSE POLISHING STONE

Great for harder steels

CS-M is a premium green silicon carbide finishing stone with superb cutting capabilities. A special bond makes the CS-M non-loading with a medium soft hardness for excellent polishing. It produces a silky matte finish on all pre-hardened tool steels, from 28Rc SAE 4130 through 60Rc A2 and M2. CS-M is the most popular stone used on H-13 and can be used to rough out beryllium, copper and kirksite. It is a good choice for stoning contours and radii as it contours nicely to the tool. Can be used with or without a lubricant. 

Silicon carbide finishing stones vary from aluminum oxide finishing stones in that the particle shape of the grain is thinner and sharper than aluminum oxide particles. Silicon carbide particles shave a narrow cut in the material being polished and produce a less brilliant finish because the narrow cut does not reflect as much light. Silicon carbide tends to shape easily to contours and is typically fast cutting and breaks down quickly.
