Description
Lead time is 4-6 weeks. Ships directly from Manufacturer.
Shipping will be charged at actual shipping in a separate invoice. It is best to order this item separately from your other purchases. Brokerage is included in the price so no need to worry about any additional charges when the Kiln arrives.
We don’t stock any kilns as that would require additional shipping and would increase the price. We take care of importing the kiln so there are no surprises when it arrives.
KF Extreme Series - Extra Deep - Dual Door
Go deep with Evenheat's KF Extreme Series Ovens.
Our KF Extreme models are available in depths from 31.5" all the way up to 49.5". They feature dual doors and share the side-element-only design of the LB Series for phenomenal temperature distribution.
Users include sword makers, volume knife and heat treaters, Damascus steel makers and anyone needing lots of real estate.
The KF Extreme's are available in a variety of control choice options as well as our Quiet Drive Solid State relays, which you want.

Features
Chamber Depths from 31.5" to 49.5"
The KF Extreme Series are designed for long work such as Damascus steel production, firearm parts and of course swords and beyond.
Chamber depths start at 31.5" and go all the way to 49.5".
Side-Only Heating Elements
KF Extreme models are designed with side-only heating elements. This is the same design that is used in our LB Series that provides excellent temperature distribution along the entire length of the chamber.
Dual Side Opening Doors
The extra deep chambers of the KF Extreme's require the use of dual doors, front and back.
Cool Touch Handles
The handles/latches on our swing out doors are conveniently located at the front of the door, not hidden along the side. These spring loaded, phenolic handles are cool to the touch, one-handed in design and serve as the door latches as well.
Relay Access Port
All KF Extreme models incorporate our Relay Access Port for simple, no-panel-off relay replacement.
Simply remove the access plate to gain access to the relay. There's no need to remove the control panel and dig into the internal wiring. It's absolutely simple and effective and all it takes is a screwdriver!
It's a given that mechanical relays will fail at some point. This relay access port really comes in handy when they do.
Door Shields
The KF Extreme's feature door shields to provide protection against firebrick damage as well as to reduce the temperature seen at the doors and door handles.
Swing View Equipped
Our TAP II and Rampmaster temperature controls are fitted to our Swing View Adjustable Enclosure.
The swing view is a pivoting, swing-up enclosure that allows you to rotate the control to a comfortable viewing and programming angle. Once you're done, lay it back down to see it from across your shop. It's that simple.
The swing view pairs well with touchscreen controls like the TAP II as viewing angle can be perfectly aligned. You'll love it.
Loud Alarm Output Jack
A Loud Alarm output jack is included to connect our optional Loud Alarm. Enjoy 80db of irritating alarm bliss and never miss another quench.
2200°F Maximum Temperature
The maximum usable temperature for the KF Extreme models is 2200°F (1204°C). This maximum is well within the range for the vast majority of steels used by knife makers and machine shops.
This maximum temperature is limited by the heating element wire used. We use a Sandvik Nickel-Chrome alloy wire for all KF Extreme model heating elements. This alloy has proven to last, it tends to stay put and generally plays very nice when used at temps below 2200°F.
Maintenance Parts Tag
To assist you in replacing worn items we have included a maintenance parts tag indicating the proper Evenheat part numbers for anticipated maintenance items.
Wish we had this decades ago.
Strong Stand and Tool Rests
Stands are strong and include a tool rest at each end. Cool!
Build Options
TAP II or Rampmaster Controls Option
KF Extreme models are available with your choice of the TAP II or Rampmaster temperature controllers.
TAP II
The TAP II, with its large screen and well laid out format, is our most popular temperature controller. Firing schedule creation and use are simply simple. The science behind the screen delivers accurate and consistent results especially when matched with our Quiet Drive Solid State relay system.
The TAP II is fitted with Special Limits thermocouples for extremely accurate temperature readings as well as our non-metallic faceplates offering excellent Wi-Fi reception for the SDS on-line App.
Get the TAP, get the App and get going.
For detailed information on the TAP II and on-line App visit SDS Industries at kilncontrol.com
Rampmaster 3
The Rampmaster 3 is built from Bartlett Instruments V6-CF platform and is designed primarily for glass work but works well for other applications including heat treating. The Rampmaster 3 features dedicated buttons and readout and is offered to those who don't want a touchscreen.
As with all of our controls the Rampmaster 3 is paired with a Special Limits thermocouple for very precise temperature sensing. Match it up with our Quiet Drive Solid State relay system and treat yourself to some serious performance with an old-school vibe.
For detailed information on the Rampmaster 3 (V6-CF) visit Bartlett Instruments at bartinst.com.
Quiet Drive Solid State Relay Option
All KF Extreme models are available with our Quiet Drive Solid State Relay option.
Our Quiet Drive Solid State Relay System offers tight temperature control, high reliability and increased heating element life. We fully expect our solid state relay to last the life of the unit. You want this!
Power Interrupt Switch Option
The Power Interrupt Switch removes power from all heating elements as the door is opened and re-applies power as the door is closed.
The switch used for this feature is a true safety switch and is designed specifically for safety applications. This safety switch will literally tear apart and open any welded or stuck contacts - true safety!
Voltage Options
Our default production for KF Extreme Series models is 240V, Single Phase.
We do offer to build KF Extreme Series models in 200V, 208V, 220V and 230V by request.
All controls available on the KF Extreme Series models will operate properly on both 50Hz and 60Hz line frequencies. To say it another way, line frequency has no effect. It doesn't matter.
Evenheat recommends that you check your operating voltage before ordering or placing the oven in service.
Voltage Phase Options
KF Extreme Series models are produced in a single phase design only.
3 phase Delta and Wye (380V, 400V and 415V) designs are not available.
